New settlement time for securities at ISD

Changes in settlement time at the Icelandic Securities Depository Ltd. A new agreement has been signed between the Icelandic Securities Depository Ltd. and the Central Bank of Iceland on the electronic securities‘ settlement procedure.  The agreement replaces the former agreement between the same parties that was signed in the year 2000.  The agreement enters into effect on the coming September 21st., at which time, the settlement time will change from 9:00 am to 12:00 am GMT.  This change is made in consultation with the main participants on the market in order to facilitate the foreign investors´ access, adapt the Icelandic settlement system to the settlement systems in most of our neighbour countries and to diminish the risk within the settlement system.  The settlement‘s rules of procedure, which are a part of the agreement, you can get here.  Here is the agreement itself.

Icelandic securities depository launches a new website.

The old website had stopped serving it's purpose so it was time to find a new system that handled our needs. We plan to expand our service on this new website in the future.
